Areas Of Focus
Rickie is a graduate of Divine Mercy University where he earned his Masters in Mental
Health Counseling. Before pursuing a degree in Counseling, Rickie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago through St. Joseph College Seminary.
Rickie has volunteered as a missionary for many years, worked in prison
ministry, and served as the Associate Young Adult Director for the Archdiocese of
Philadelphia. Rickie has surrounded himself with various cultural backgrounds
throughout his life and is looking forward to continuing work with diverse communities.
He uses the Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person (CCMMP) in his counseling
approach, integrating psychological sciences, philosophy, and theology, incorporating
empathetic listening, and guiding each person as they discover their innate goodness —
so ultimately they can flourish. Rickie also is EMDR trained and uses EMDR to help
people to process various areas of trauma. Prior to his work at Olive Branch, he worked
at Cor Sacrum Counseling and Consulting as an Associate Therapist.
A Little About Me
One of the things that draws me to this work of counseling is the opportunity to offer a space
that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free — a place where you can truly express yourself,
share your story, and explore the parts of life that may feel dark, shameful, or painful.
As a counselor, I operate from the principle that every person possesses inherent dignity. I see it
as a true privilege to enter into the difficult and vulnerable spaces of my clients’ lives. We are
each created for flourishing, but often, we face obstacles like relational trauma, anxiety, and
deeply rooted false beliefs about ourselves. Shame can whisper the lie that our wounds are too
heavy, too messy, or too much for someone else to carry, and so, we keep them hidden out of
fear.
But healing begins when we gently bring those hidden parts into the light. I believe this profession is a gift. A gift that allows me to walk alongside others as they rediscover their voice, their worth, and their ability to grow into the truest version of themselves. I know it can feel scary, uncomfortable, and unknown to open up the broken pieces, but you don’t have to do it alone.
You are worthy of joy, healing, and becoming the whole, radiant person you were always meant
to be.
Quick Takes:
- Coffee (or tea) order: I used to say black to be “tough”, but there’s no shame in saying I
love a nice iced carmel macchiato with a little whipped cream on top. - Favorite way to decompress after a long day: beer, wings, football and/or
basketball….the American Dream they say. - If I weren’t a therapist, I’d be: a Tech Review YouTuber- I just love technology and
learning about the next gadget. Goal: to become the next MKBHD.
